Mahindra Racing Makes History in Sepang

Mahindra Racing, the only Indian manufacturer in International Grand Prix motorcycle racing created history at the Malaysian Grand Prix, Sepang when the rider Miguel Oliveira finished 3rd on the podium among 32 riders in the Moto3 World Championship.

Starting from the 4th position on the grid, Oliveira finished on the podium just 0.408 seconds behind the winner. He also set the Circuit lap record, his 3rd this year after Mugello and Assen rounds.

The result is a historic landmark for Indian motor sport history – when a motorcycle developed by an Indian company has finished on the podium at the World Championship. The Mahindra MGP30 which is still in its 1st year of development, and was designed and built in record time over the winter has threatened top machines ever since its debut.

With this spectacular performance, Mahindra is now placed 3rd in the Constructors’ championship, with a difference of just 5 points from second place. The next race is the Australia Grand Prix at Phillip Island on 20th October.
